Lunch will be served each week. Some weeks will conclude at 1pm after lunch and other weeks will go until 3pm, depending on that weeks topic.

WEEK 1 – Bacnet Networking Basics & Intro to the Carrier Service Tools

WEEK 2 - RTU OPEN Controller

WEEK 3 - VVT OPEN Controllers

WEEK 4 - UPC OPEN & Custom Programmable Controllers

WEEK 5 - VAV OPEN Controllers

WEEK 6 - i-Vu OPEN Web Interface & Certification Testing

Carrier OPEN BACnet Controls & Service Tools

We will discuss the Basics of bacnet networking, the Carrier OPEN product line, different controllers / sensors you may see in the field, make sure everyone has the software loaded on their laptops, and can successfully connect to controllers.

RTU OPEN Controller

We will discuss installation and wiring, sequence of operation, programming, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting. This is for constant volume and Staged Air Volume (SAV) RTU under 25 tons.

VVT OPEN Controllers

We will discuss installation and wiring, sequence of operation, programming, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting for Variable Volume and Temperature (VVT) zoning systems.

UPC OPEN Controllers

We will discuss the equipmentbuilder software and its uses with many of the controllers in the carrier product line. This includes many different applications including hot & Chilled water plants, chillers, boilers, condensing units, fan coils, and RTUs greater than 25 tons.

VAV OPEN Controllers

We will discuss installation and wiring, sequence of operation, programming, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting for Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems.

i-Vu OPEN Web Interface

We will discuss installation, programming, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting for Carriers web-based interface tools. Custom graphics will not be covered in this particular course but a follow-up course is offered to introduce you to the Viewbuilder tool.

Covers Understanding line & block programming, the basics of building a program, working with and configuring PID loops, reading the logic page

WEEK 2 - ViewBuilder Custom Graphics

Create Custom graphics and floorplans using the carrier viewbuilder program

WEEK 3 - Advanced SNAP Custom Programming

Formatting properties pages & 3rd party integration
