Times are changing and the current code requirements for high IEERs are driving the market to use Staged Air Volume (SAV) in place of the traditional constant volume systems.
Smaller units using vane axial fans with ECM motors are standard now, so we will cover this type of RTU from Carrier (EcoBlue), Bryant (Axion), and ICP (X-Vane). This exclusive technology was designed to improve performance and efficiency while decreasing maintenance and installation costs. This RTU includes the industry’s first belt-less direct-drive vane axial fan for rooftop units, a new control board and coil technology, permanently lubricated motor bearings, tool-less filter access doors, and more.
Technicians need to know how to properly install, setup, and service all of these units, as they are now the standard RTUs in the market.
Topics covered include installation, start-up, and troubleshooting. We will discuss standard RTUs, ECM controlled SAV RTUs, airflow setup, vane axial fans, humidimizer, and economizers.
We will focus on Bryant, Carrier, & ICP SAV equipment in the 3 thru 27 ton range.
This classes qualifies for 4 NATE hours for the technician plus 4 "FAD Distributor" or "Elite Distributor" hours for the dealer.
