The lab work will include maintenance, start-up, troubleshooting procedures of residential condensing units and heat pumps. Students will be working on fully function split systems in the lab area.

Please bring hand tools, volt or multi-meter, R-454B & R-410A refrigerant gauges, and pressure gauge (magnahelic or monometer).

These units are very efficient under part load conditions and use variable speed inverter-driven scroll and rotary compressors. The intended audience of this particular class is installers and service technicians.

These units feature low turndown, high-efficiency, smooth start operation, and sound levels as low as 55dBA. The fully varaible units should be used with a communicating control.
