OVERVIEW:This training course provides the participants with an overview of Carrier/Bryant 37MU and Heil/Day&Night D5CU Crossover units which allow the usage of a horizontal discharge mini-split inverter with a standard furnace or air handler fan coil. The course will include installation requirements, operating characteristics and a general overview of service and troubleshooting procedures.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:The target audience includes HVAC technicians and installers. Attendees should have a general understanding of air conditioning systems, refrigerants, installation and service procedures.

REQUIRED TOOLS: electrical meter with micro-leads and basic hand-tools

- Installation requirements and procedures

- Fault codes

- Servicing and Diagnostic procedures

The lab work will include teardown and re-assembly of both non-condensing (80%) and condensing (90%+) furnaces, maintenance procedures, and basic component testing.

This is a hands-on class with 2-3 students per system. The class will cover the functionality of the Evolution, Infinity, and Ion communicating touch screen controls. We will also discuss unique installation requirements as related to A2L refrigerants, zoning systems, variable speed outdoor units, and modulating gas valves.

This small group hands-on class will focus on the startup and service procedures of HTP high efficiency condensing boilers. The class is specific to HTP brands (Munchkin, Elite, Mod Con, Contender, Pioneer, etc.). The hands-on live fire portion will focus on the HTP Elite. There will be demonstrations of cleaning, inspection, controls, troubleshooting, and combustion testing.
